Tampere has a free smart phone app which gives information about services in Tampere. It contains information about, e.g., public transportation timetables and routes, sightseeing locations, hiking routes.
The app provides means to give feedback to the city and inform about faults in the build infrastructure. It also shows the users any active city surveys and possibilities to participate in and have an impact in the city’s affairs.
One feature in the app is also the carbon footprint calculator. It calculates your carbon footprint based on the travel data it collects.
Public transport apps
Nysse (a name for Tampere’s PT) has a public transport journey planner. It shows everything someone needs to plan their journey with public transport. It also has features with which the user can change walking speed, preferred vehicles, or if the user wants to avoid walking or not.
To see near-by bus/tram stops and their real-time timetables, Lissu is specified for that use case. It shows only the nearest stops, and which lines stop at them and their timetable.
