Tampere uses an advanced tool for sharing information related to traffic disruptions. Disruptions include planned data e.g., road works warnings, largest events in the city, but also sensor data from the Rantatunneli.

The goal of the tool is to make information about traffic disruptions available to road users as quickly and automatically as possible.

The traffic operator at the Tampere road traffic center can automatically share information about disturbances with road users by publishing a notification using the tool in use. This can be used, for example, to inform about roadworks.

In addition, the control systems for the Rantatunneli (Tampere Tunnel) and the Arena have been integrated into the tool with a real-time interface, enabling automated disruption notifications for these as well.

The tool allows different control actions to be triggered, such as raising bollards, adjusting traffic light timings, or organizing special public transport arrangements. The information is intended for all road users.

Disruption notifications can be viewed on the www.tampereenliikenne.fi website.

Disruption notifications are transferred from a machine-readable interface directly to X (formerly Twitter), where they can be subscribed to, for example, via the @TreLiikenne channel.

The notifications are also available for download in Datex 2 format from the Factory Wiki pages at wiki.itsfactory.fi/index.php/Tampere_incidents_and_roadworks or from the Tampere data portal (Liikennetiedoterajapinta).
